YouTube SEO, Keyword Research, Video Optimization, vidIQ, Tag Strategy, Content Discoverability
This project centered on optimizing YouTube videos across multiple channels that were publishing consistently but weren't fully leveraging metadata — titles, descriptions, and tags were often generic, leaving significant search visibility on the table.
The optimization process started with deep keyword research using vidIQ, identifying high-volume, low-competition search terms relevant to each video's topic. Tags were restructured to include a mix of broad and long-tail keyword variations, descriptions were rewritten to naturally incorporate target keywords in the first few lines (where YouTube weighs them most heavily), and titles were tested against search volume data before finalizing.
The results validated the approach. Multiple videos across different channels achieved vidIQ SEO Scores between 93 and 100 out of 100, with several individual tags reaching #1 ranked position for their target keywords. Actionable optimization scores were consistently maintained at 46-50 out of 50 across the portfolio, taking channels from inconsistent, under-optimized uploads to a repeatable, data-driven publishing system.
